When tastes change, the consumer only needs to replace the decorative glass bulb and continues to use the socket.

At the end of the service life of the lamp, the glass bulb is reused and only the lamp is replaced. The upfront purchase price is somewhat higher than traditional bulbs, however they are less expensive due to the lower energy costs and longer service life. The energy saved and the much longer service life compared to conventional incandescent bulbs (which are now banned) are a real boon for the environment and the pocket book.
